Rescue Story: Sully arrived in January, 2024 on a cold winter day. He came wearing a very cute pink and blue coat. Sully had been in multiple foster homes and was eventually adopted by a family in Maine through the Heart and Hooves Equine Rescue and Sanctuary. During a visit to the local grain store, I ran into Amanda and Michelle from the Heart and Hooves and they informed me that Sully was being sent back to their rescue from his home in Maine because he was partially blind in one eye and could no longer be ridden safely. Sully went to another foster home and we expressed interest in meeting him to see if he would be a good fit at Field of Dreams. We quickly set up a visit to meet him. When we arrived, he was in a field with some other horses and donkeys. I called out "Sully" and he looked right up at me and ran over. It was love at first sight! We formally adopted Sully into our Field of Dreams rescue family.
Sully was very anxious when he arrived and it was also difficult due to his blindness. He would sometimes get spooked when approached. He is very loving and gives gentle nibbles to everyone he meets. He loves his barn. Most of his life, he lived outside with a run in, so he is very happy to have a warm stall in his barn.
Sully was a diamond in the rough and with a lot of love and patience, he has become a favorite at the Field of Dreams!
Superpower - Love everyone
